DIMAPUR — Patkai Christian College (PCC) held its graduation ceremony 2024 on the theme “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness," at the college’s Bundrock auditorium on Saturday
The ceremony commenced with the arrival of the college principal, guests, and staff members, who walked down the aisle, an update stated. Rev. Zhabu Terhüja, offered invocation prayer for the ceremony.
In his address, Dr. Abemo Odyuo, Registrar of Nagaland University, recounted his experiences at Patkai. "Whatever we do, there should be a point where we learn a lesson…This is the beginning and this is your beginning," he said.
He advised the graduates to develop self-respect and confidence, to never cheat on themselves and to respect elders.
“Be wise in whatever you do because what you do today will decide your future," Odyuo added.
During the presentation, Akangsenla, assistant professor of English, read out the names of the gold medalists and the graduates, while Dr. Abemo Odyuo presented the certificates and medals.
Among the students, Rolio Marao, a Bachelor student of Physics, scored CGPA of 9.50 and was honoured with the Dr. Satuo Sekhose Memorial Academic Excellence Award 2023, which included cash prize of INR 30,000 along with a merit certificate.
Speeches on behalf of the outgoing students were delivered by Sentila S Pongen, representing the postgraduates (PG), and Megosieto Vupru, representing the undergraduates (UG).
The president of the Alumni Association of Patkai Christian College (AAPCC) officially inducted the graduates as members of the AAPCC. The president urged the graduates to look back with love and support to foster a strong alumni network.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer benediction pronounced by Rev. Dr. Tuisem A. Shishak, the Principal Emeritus of PCC.
Earlier, Dr. Thepfuvilie Pieru, the principal of PCC, welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the founder of PCC, Rev. Dr. Tuisem A Shishak, the guests, parents, faculty, staff, and students.
The ceremony featured a special musical performance by the students from The Margaret Shishak School of Music (MSSM).
