programme of the first creative arts fest at Patkai Christian College on
Friday.
- DIMAPUR — The
first creative arts fest of Patkai Christian College kicked-off at Bundrock
auditorium on Friday on the theme “Passion into action.” The fest is being
organised in collaboration with the Task Force for Music and Arts (TAFMA).
- Speaking at the inaugural programme, the special guest and
principal of Wandering Minds Institute of Fine Art, Lanutemsu, highlighted the
need to nurture creativity within Nagaland and urged young people to contribute
their talents to their homeland rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
- He envisioned a future where Nagaland becomes a global hub
for artistic innovation, stating that "Nagaland should be a place where
creativity is at its peak, people from abroad should come here, searching,
seeking to learn and to receive."
- He also stressed the importance of incorporating art into
daily life and culture. Additionally, he redefined passion as "Choosing to
be kind, choosing to be a bit more considerate, choosing the right words to
appreciate or to do little things– I think those things are a good start."
- Tokhumba Yimchunger, general secretary of Post Graduate
Students' Welfare Council (PGSWC), has termed the festival as a vibrant
celebration of imagination, story-telling and artistic expression.
- He informed that the fest would provide a platform for
writers, poets, artists and performers to showcase their talents, exchange
ideas and inspire one another. He further encouraged the participants to
immerse themselves in thought provoking discussions, mesmerising performances
and creative showcases.
- The Clark Brothers presented a song.
- The inaugural programme was followed by various activities
such as quiz, group song, just a minute (JAM), art, essay writing, poetry slam,
group dance, debate, mad ads., and fashion designing.
- Altogether, six houses are participating in the week-long
event.
