Orientation on PMAY (U) implementation held in Chiephobozou

  • DIMAPUR — The state-level nodal agency under the Municipal Affairs department conducted a one-day orientation programme on the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Urban) in Chiephobozou under the Kohima district on Wednesday.

  • The programme was aimed at sensitising key stakeholders, including officials from the urban local body (ULB), community representatives and implementing partners, on various components of PMAY (Urban), especially on beneficiary-led construction (BLC), which is being implemented in the state.

  • An update from Municipal Affairs department stated that Alemyapang Longchar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and executive officer of Chiephobozou Town Council, delivered the welcome address, while Kevilenou Solo, state nodal officer and Deputy Director of Municipal Affairs, presented a brief introduction on PMAY Urban 2.0

    Officials of the Municipal Affairs department and resource persons along with the participants during the orientation programme on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) implementation in Chiephobozou town on Wednesday.


  • Resource persons from the state-level technical cell made detailed presentations and held an interactive session on scheme guidelines, beneficiary selection, fund flow mechanism, geo-tagging of houses, monitoring protocols and the roles and responsibilities of ULB and other stakeholders.

  • Report stated that participants actively engaged in discussions and raised queries related to beneficiary documentation, convergence with other schemes and timelines for implementation. The orientation also included a demonstration of the PMAY-U MIS portal for real-time data entry and monitoring.

  • The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by the ULB and field-level staff to accelerate implementation and ensure transparency and accountability in the delivery of housing benefits to eligible urban households.
