Health department of Wokha division conducts orientation on Kilkari for healthcare workers.

DIMAPUR — An orientation on Kilkari (health services for better maternal and child health outcomes) for healthcare workers was held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office in Wokha town on Thursday.
An update from the CMO stated that Mhonbeni Ezung, NHM district programme manager (NHM), chaired the programme wherein she encouraged all the healthcare workers to coordinate and work towards making the digital initiative a success.
The CMO of Wokha, Dr. Thungchanbemo Ezung, briefly introduced Kilkari, a free digital service to improve maternal and child health, which was launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2016. He also expressed gratitude to the resource person for organising the orientation for the healthcare workers in Wokha.

The resource person, Shanpanthung Ezung, state programme coordinator of KMA, ARMMAN, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, informed that Kilkari app uses interactive voice response technology and delivers time-sensitive audio messages (voice call) about RMNCH directly to the beneficiary. He stated that the app aims to strengthen the health delivery service, thereby benefitting the beneficiary.
He explained that beneficiaries need to get registered in the reproductive child health portal. He added that the data is shared to the application and subsequently the beneficiary receives weekly calls or messages. The resource person stated that awareness campaign would play a vital role in reaching out to the public.
It stated that orientation at block levels in the district would continue till September 12.
The programme was attended by medical officers, block programme managers, district community mobiliser, staff nurses, consultant, UPHC, data manager, IDSP and DPMU staff.
