Western Sumi Youth Front and Nagaland Garo Tribal Council condole demise of Western Sumi Hoho president Shikaho Zhimomi.

DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has condoled the demise Shikaho Zhimomi, president of the Western Sumi Hoho, who passed away on December 16 in Delhi.
In a condolence message, the WSYF stated that Zhimomi was a guiding force, a pillar of wisdom, and a unifying voice for the Western Sumi people. “His life was marked by unwavering commitment, quiet strength, and a selfless dedication to the cause of unity, justice, and the collective wellbeing of our people.
“Even in times of personal hardship, he remained deeply concerned about the aspirations and challenges of the community he so faithfully served,” the message read.

The youth front also stated that he will also be long remembered for his tireless efforts in maintaining and strengthening cordial relationships among the many tribes of the Naga family.
“A firm believer in mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, Shikaho Zhimomi consistently worked to build bridges of understanding beyond tribal boundaries, fostering harmony and goodwill at times when such leadership was most needed. His approach to inter-tribal relations reflected maturity, balance, and a deep sense of responsibility towards the larger Naga society,” it added.
In a separate condolence message, the Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) also expressed shock at the demise of Shikaho Zhimomi.
The council stated that Zhimomi was a very respected leader among all sections of the society, who worked energetically and tirelessly towards the uplift and betterment of his community in particular and the society in general.
“His passing away is a great loss for the society as a whole. He will always be remembered as a humble leader and a gentleman,” the message added.
