DIMAPUR — Village councils under Chiephobozou sub-division are set to be reconstituted in April 2026, while house listing for the upcoming Census is scheduled to begin in July, officials informed during a sub-divisional coordination meeting held on Wednesday.
The meeting was held at the ADC’s Office Chamber in Chiephobozou under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Alemyapang Longcha.
Addressing the meeting, the ADC informed members about the upcoming reconstitution of village councils and preparations for the Census house listing exercise expected to commence in July. He thanked various departments for their efforts in implementing departmental programmes and activities in the sub-division and encouraged them to continue working with coordination and commitment for the development of the area.

According to an update, during the meeting, departmental activities were also highlighted by Inspector of Food and Civil Supplies Neinuo Zumu. She informed that under the ration card schemes—Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)—beneficiaries are entitled to receive five kilograms of food grains per member.
She said beneficiaries under the schemes can procure food grains from fair price shops through Aadhaar-enabled authentication using electronic point-of-sale (ePoS) devices.
Zumu further informed that under the National Food Security Act, the Government of India has extended the free distribution of food grains for five years until December 2028.
