Pukiye Shohe and Menuokhriezo Metha won the Provisional and Under-15 titles at the Nagaland Wrestling Association Championship in Kohima.

KOHIMA — Pukiye Shohe of the Sumi Wrestling Association and Menuokhriezo Metha of the Angami Wrestling Association on Friday emerged champions in the Provisional and Under-15 categories respectively at the 1st Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) Championship held at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground.
In the Provisional category, Shohe claimed the title and a cash prize of INR 2 lakh. Yankithung Shitiri of the Lotha Wrestling Association finished second and received INR 1 lakh, while Lumthsa L Sangtam of the Sangtam Wrestling Association secured third place for INR 80,000. Jochuhyu Semy of the Rengma Wrestling Association placed fourth and received INR 60,000.

In the Under-15 category, Metha won the title and a cash prize of INR 1 lakh. Mudoto Dozo of the Chakhesang Wrestling Association finished second for INR 80,000, while Kütho Puro and Chüre Pohena, both representing the Chakhesang Wrestling Association, secured third and fourth positions respectively, receiving INR 60,000 and INR 40,000.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will attend the championship as special guest on Saturday, while Sanjay Kumar Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India, will be the honoured guest. The matches will begin at 9 am.
