NSRLM is holding a training programme on Knowledge Management and Communication for district point persons at SIRD, Kohima.

DIMAPUR — To highlight field experiences and share stories from rural areas through proper documentation, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) is organising a training programme for select staff from all districts of Nagaland at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Kohima.
According to an update, the participants are engaged as point persons on Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC).
Delivering the introductory note during the inaugural session on Wednesday, Additional Mission Director of NSRLM Theose Thongtsar highlighted the importance of documentation and stated that any department or organisation is expected to maintain proper records and reports as data in web portals, case studies, or narrative reports.
Underscoring the primary steps to ensure effective documentation, he stated that the focus should be on process documentation, key learnings arising from challenges, and the outcome and impact resulting in visible changes.

The Additional Mission Director called upon the KMC point persons to remain vigilant and document key processes, creating a healthy ecosystem of knowledge sharing and cross-learning initiatives. He pointed out that a major challenge in Nagaland is knowledge storage and sharing and advised the State Mission to focus on maintaining a cache of good practices that can be replicated and through which innovations can be expanded.
He also encouraged the team to initiate the publication of a quarterly newsletter of NSRLM to share rural initiatives across various platforms. The additional mission director also distributed laptops and cameras to the participants.
The training, which concludes on August 21, will guide participants through case study templates as per guidelines from the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Ministry of Rural Development, on different verticals. The sessions are being conducted by vertical managers Imonenla Imkong Phom, Atenjen Lemtur, Rajuselie Lhousa, Ebibeni N Humtsoe, and Khriezovonuo Lhoungu.
The participants are also being trained on basic reporting formats and creative writing with Vishü Rita Krocha as the resource person and on basic photography and short documentary making with Vitoto Sakhrie as the resource person.
