DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and MSME Promotion Council of India (MSME-PCI), Nagaland Chapter, on December 10 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote rural entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities in Nagaland.
A leading rural resilience and prosperity programme in the state, NSRLM has empowered 1.13 lakhs rural women covering all 17 districts, stated an update from NSRLM.
According to the rural livelihoods mission, these women are actively contributing to rural transformation, enabling rural households to access sustainable livelihood opportunities by building strong institutions of the poor, particularly women's self-help groups and their higher-level federations, collectives, and cooperatives.
This helps them increase income through self-employment, skill development, enterprise development, value chain and market linkage, and better access to financial services.
While MSME Promotion Council of India (MSME-PCI), Nagaland Chapter, aims to support and develop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the state to enable business growth, enterprise expansion, skill enhancement, and improved access to local, national, and international markets, the release stated.
