DIMAPUR — The Trophy Tour of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Martyrs' Memorial Trophy was officially handed over to the Angami Students' Union (ASU) on Monday by the Mao Students' Union (MSU) at Asufü Turf, Senapati, Manipur.
The chief host of the handing over ceremony, Losü Dikho, MLA 48 Mao A/C, acknowledged the NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy Tour across all inhabited Naga areas, highlighting its significance in commemorating the 25th anniversary edition, according to a press release.
He emphasised the tour’s purpose in honouring sacrifices and promoting unity through football, a modern symbol of togetherness, and urged youth to pursue professionalism in the sport for a brighter future.
Medo Yhokha, convenor of the steering committee for the 25th anniversary edition of the NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy, emphasised the message of peace and unity conveyed through football. He urged all football enthusiasts to take part in the forthcoming tournament and expressed hope that the Naga society would come together through a shared history.

During the ceremony, Diezevisie Nakhro, president of the Angami Students' Union, underscored the growing communication within the student fraternity, which, he said, is fostering unity and paving the way for a brighter future for all Nagas.
In commemorating the occasion, an exhibition football match was also held between teams representing ASU and MSU.
