The Naga Students' Federation strongly condemns the police crackdown on students protesting in New Delhi over examination paper leaks.
DIMAPUR — The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the use of force by police against aggrieved students who participated in a protest in New Delhi on July 20.
In a press statement the federation described the scenes of baton charges, tear gas, and the reported deployment of plainclothes personnel armed with lathis against unarmed students as unacceptable in a democratic society.
It stated that the right to peaceful assembly and the freedom to voice legitimate grievances are fundamental rights that cannot be suppressed through violence and intimidation.

The protesting students had assembled to demand accountability over issues affecting the future of millions of young aspirants, including repeated competitive examination paper leaks and the need for greater transparency, fairness, and integrity in recruitment and examination systems.
The federation highlighted its support for meritocracy, transparency, accountability, and fairness in every selection and recruitment process, stating that the aspirations of hard-working students must never be compromised by systemic failures, corruption, or administrative negligence.
Expressing solidarity with the students, the federation extended its concern and prayers to those injured during the police crackdown. It further stated that the legitimate concerns raised by students regarding examination integrity, transparency, and systemic reforms must be addressed immediately through meaningful dialogue rather than coercive measures.
