NSDMA has issued a weather advisory for July 15–18, warning of localised thunderstorms, lightning and moderate to heavy rainfall across several districts in Nagaland.
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, has issued a weather advisory for July 15 to the 18th based on the latest district-wise forecast, warning of localised thunderstorms, lightning and moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of the state.
According to the advisory, July 15 is expected to witness localised thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rainfall across several districts.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely at a few places in Longleng and Mon districts. The NSDMA has advised residents in these areas to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
On July 16, weather conditions are expected to improve across most districts, with no major warnings issued for many areas.
However, light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in Kohima, Noklak, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto districts. Scattered intermittent rainfall is also expected in Noklak and Zunheboto.

For July 17, localised thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rainfall are forecast over several districts, including Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Noklak, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto.
Residents, particularly those living in areas prone to landslides and waterlogging, have been advised to exercise caution.
On July 18, localised thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall are expected to continue over parts of the state, especially in Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto districts.
Light rainfall is also likely at a few places in Kiphire, Noklak, Peren, Phek and Shamator districts.
The NSDMA urged citizens to stay updated with official weather forecasts and advisories and to take necessary precautions during periods of adverse weather. The public has also been encouraged to refer to the NSDMA weather website and the SAFER Nagaland App for real-time weather updates.
