The NSCN/GPRN (R) has expelled Kavishe Zhimo from all memberships following an enquiry report.
DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has expelled Kavishe Zhimo from both active and primary membership of the party following an investigation into various allegations he made against party leaders and the government.
According to a press communique from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (R), an emergency meeting was held on June 18 in Dimapur under the chairmanship of Kilo (Home) Kilonser Carlus Kughato Zhimo. The meeting resolved to constitute an inquiry committee headed by senior Kilonser Lhoughoto Chishi, Kilonser Vetokhu Chophy, Kilonser Kaiyong Konyak, and Secretary to the Committee Ahovi Chishi to investigate the charges.
The committee submitted its report on July 6, outrightly rejecting all allegations made by the suspended ACL Kavishe Zhimo. The findings of the committee reported that all claims were false and fabricated and lacked locus standi, describing them as malicious and an outburst of frustration following his suspension for anti-party activities.
On the contrary, the committee stated that service records available with the government revealed several discrepancies regarding Kavishe Zhimo during his tenure in various offices.
First, his claim of participating in the first ceasefire agreement was found to be incorrect. The NSCN/GPRN (R) entered into a formal ceasefire on April 27, 2015, whereas Kavishe Zhimo enrolled on October 16, 2015, nearly six months after the agreement was signed.

Second, the committee noted significant financial mismanagement during his tenure as Revenue In-charge in the Dimapur district for one financial year beginning April 8, 2016. It was estimated that he misused government funds of around INR 25 lakh during this period and another INR 12 lakh while holding the office of Kilo (Home) Kilonser and serving as the Convenor of the Crime Control Cell.
Third, he was found to have been involved in at least three failed attempts to defect to other Naga political groups under the pseudonym James Zhimo in 2019, 2021, and 2025.
Fourth, despite the Collective Leadership being aware of his wrongdoings, he was given the responsibility of Kilo (Home) Kilonser and, by default, served as the Convenor of the Crime Control Cell. However, he failed to submit the revenue generated by the department, which was corroborated by the Crime In-charge, and instead used the funds for the construction of his personal building at Thilixu village, Block IV, Dimapur.
Fifth, he was found to have engaged in a smear campaign against other party workers and senior colleagues, causing mistrust for personal financial gains.
Sixth, it was alleged that while continuing to enjoy benefits as an ACL, he was allegedly planning to float a new political party, which led to his suspension. Rather than expressing remorse, he engaged in further smear campaigns against party leaders, leaving the Collective Leadership with no option but to expel him.
Consequently, Kavishe Zhimo has been directed to submit all government properties to the Town Command Dimapur within five days from the publication of the press communique. Failure to comply will attract necessary punitive action, and he will be held solely responsible.
The statement added that while Kavishe Zhimo correctly mentioned that the Naga political movement belongs to all Nagas, he is reminded that it belongs to patriots with the courage to face challenges and sacrifice for the cause, rather than those who seek to exploit it. The NSCN/GPRN (R) stated it will not issue any further statements on this issue.
