- DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe)
has publicly apologised to the Western Sumi Hoho, its affiliated organisations,
and the general public for a firing incident that took place on the night of
May 23, 2025, at Unity village (5th Mile), Chümoukedima.
- In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of
Information and Publicity of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) acknowledged that the
incident—described as “unprecedented firing” by one of its cadres—was a
response to what it claimed was a “provocative action” by the NSCN (R). The
group admitted that the incident went against a resolution jointly adopted by
the Western Sumi Hoho and its frontal organisations on June 5, 2024.
- “The Government of the NSCN would further like to sincerely
apologise to the citizens of Unity Village (5th Mile) in particular and the
Nagas in general for disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the state and
hurting the sentiment of its people,” the statement read.
- It further assured that the NSCN (Khango) remains committed
to peace and pledged to uphold peaceful coexistence between the group and the
public.

breaking through the compound wall and overpowering security guards.

automatic weapons, threatened family members at gunpoint, seized mobile phones,
