- DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung) has issued a
statement warning individuals and businesses in Nagaland against dealing with a
person identified as Ithomong Rengma, who is allegedly collecting money by
falsely claiming affiliation with the organisation.
- In the statement, the group stated that Ithomong has been
collecting large sums of money in the name of NSCN/GPRN, creating confusion and
tarnishing the organisation's good reputation.
- “He has even gone to the extent of claiming himself as the finance
secretary of the NSCN/GPRN, which is absolutely absurd, as the Nagaland state
finance is directly handled by the NSCN/GPRN's Central Finance Committee,” it
read, adding that to clarify, there is no national worker by the name of
Ithomong Rengma within the ranks of the NSCN/GPRN, and at no point has the
NSCN/GPRN authorised Ithomong Rengma to collect on behalf of the government.

Nagaland have been informed not to deal with Ithomong or any unauthorised
person(s) for any financial matters related to NSCN/GPRN, as doing so will be
at their own risk.
