DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has condemned the killings of two commuters, Chinaoshang Shokwungnao of Tashar Village and Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasom CC Village, near Yaolen Kuki Village on April 18, allegedly by Kuki SoO cadres.
In a statement issued on April 18, the NSCN (IM) stated that the “flagrant behaviour of the kuki militants who are being sheltered by the Indian Security Forces under SoO has exceeded all tolerance limits.”
It stated that their aggressive provocations not only escalate tensions but also inch towards a complete failure of the so-called Indian state mechanism.
The organisation maintained that Nagas will be compelled to pursue all available defensive measures to safeguard their “land and sovereignty.”

“It is no longer a mere claim: multiple local reports and testimonies confirm collusion between Indian security forces and Kuki armed groups under SoO. This aims to undermine the political situation in Nagalim and destabilise the neighbouring region through proxy wars disguised as ethnic conflict.
“The machination of Kukis by the Indian government, a remnant policy of the old British Rule to serve their interest is certainly paying dividends trying to sabotage the Naga movement,” the NSCN (IM) stated.
Condemning the loss of innocent lives, the NSCN (IM) called for an “immediate, independent, and transparent investigation into the incident.”
