DIMAPUR — Amid escalating tensions, the NSCN (IM) on Sunday rejected allegations levelled against it by the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi & NCR, accusing the student body of spreading “reckless”, “politically motivated” and inflammatory claims capable of deepening communal divisions.
In a press statement, the group condemned the KSO Delhi & NCR statement concerning the prevailing situation in Manipur and alleged that the organisation was attempting to provoke communal mistrust through “unverified” accusations.
It described the statement as a deliberate attempt to selectively label communities, organisations and individuals without “credible judicial findings or lawful evidence”.
The NSCN (IM) categorically denied what it termed allegations of involvement in terrorism, unlawful armed activities and organised criminal operations, while also rejecting what it called “false and malicious claims intended to demonise entire communities through sweeping accusations”.

It further accused the student organisation of distorting facts for “political propaganda and public manipulation”.
Expressing concern over attempts to exploit sensitive incidents and communal sentiments, the NSCN (IM) stated that public platforms and student organisations must act responsibly and uphold peace, factual integrity and social harmony instead of spreading narratives that could incite hostility and unrest.
It also warned against attempts to threaten political consequences or create fear through provocative language, stating that such actions were detrimental to democratic harmony.
Issuing “a stern warning,” the NSCN (IM) asserted that the circulation of “false, defamatory, communal and inflammatory statements” against any community or organisation must cease immediately.
It added that continued repetition of such conduct could invite “appropriate legal, constitutional and administrative actions under applicable national azha”.
The organisation also urged Indian authorities, civil society organisations, student bodies and the media to avoid one-sided narratives and work collectively towards peace, justice and stability for all communities.
