DIMAPUR — The Northern Angami Women Organisation (NAWO) has strongly condemned the alleged attempted rape and attempted murder of a mother of four children, committed by 19-year-old Khrietuolie Kense of Tsiemekhuma Basa village, Botsa.
In a condemnation note, the NAWO stated that this act challenges the rights and security of all women, is unacceptable in a civilised society, and warrants the harshest punishment.
It was stated that in response to this grave and inhumane act, NAWO will organise a peaceful protest and submit a memorandum to the district administration, Kohima, to demand justice.
The protest is scheduled for August 2 at 10 am at Razhü Point, Kohima. NAWO has called upon all concerned citizens to stand in solidarity and support the cause.
“We urge that the accused be prosecuted and punished under the appropriate provisions of the law. We call upon all concerned citizens to join us in solidarity and support this cause,” the note read.
