Northeast Frontier Railway has upgraded the Railway Higher Secondary School at Maligaon, improving classrooms, playground and facilities to enhance the learning environment.

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has undertaken a comprehensive upgradation of the Railway Higher Secondary School at Maligaon, enhancing infrastructure and academic facilities to strengthen the institution under its administrative care.
The upgraded facilities were inaugurated on Tuesday by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, in the presence of senior railway officers, school authorities, teachers and staff members.
According to a release, the upgradation includes the construction of two new classrooms, development of a new playground, renovation of the entry gate and prayer hall, renovation of toilets, installation of granite on staircases, strengthening of the boundary wall, renovation of doors and windows, and construction of a new corridor. The improvements are aimed at creating a safer, cleaner and more student-friendly learning environment.

The Railway Higher Secondary School at Maligaon, established in 1959, is one of the oldest educational institutions under the Northeast Frontier Railway. The school has been catering to the wards of railway employees and students from the surrounding local community and has been imparting education for more than six decades.
The release said the school has played a significant role in promoting academic excellence, discipline and holistic development among students.
The inauguration of the upgraded facilities marks a milestone in the school’s long journey, integrating its legacy with modern infrastructure for the benefit of students.
