DIMAPUR — The closing ceremony of the Summer Cultural Workshop 2025, organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Cultural Association, concluded on July 18 at Rang Bhawan in Maligoan, Assam.


An update from NFR stated that a vibrant cultural programme was organised as part of the festivities, showcasing the artistic spirit of the railway community. The closing ceremony was attended by senior officials and other dignitaries, who came together with officers, staff and their families to celebrate the essence of art and culture.


It stated that the railway employees and their family members participated wholeheartedly, presenting a series of captivating performances that reflected their talent, enthusiasm and deep pride in the region’s rich traditions.


It added that this year’s workshop was a vibrant celebration of the northeast’s cultural richness, offering intensive training in some of the region’s most iconic folk traditions such as Bihu, Bagurumba, Jhumur and other traditional dances along with soulful folk and lively modern songs, contemporary dance, music, drama and fine arts.

“The initiative became a dynamic platform for young cultural enthusiasts and railway family members to not only reconnect with their roots but also showcase their creativity through modern artistic styles, thereby reaffirming NFR collective commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of northeast India,” the statement read.


It further mentioned that the NFR Cultural Association has long been a pioneer in preserving the rich cultural heritage of northeast India while promoting modern artistic expressions, especially among the youth.
