- DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)
continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship
through a series of impactful cleanliness campaigns and sustainability
initiatives across its divisions.
- On Tuesday, a special cleanliness drive was carried out at
New Tinsukia Railway Station, with the active participation of railway staff,
local volunteers, and environmental advocates, the NFR stated in an update.
- “The initiative emphasised the importance of maintaining
clean public spaces and reducing plastic waste. The campaign delivered a clear
message – Say No to Single-Use Plastic. Participants focused on cleaning the
station premises, removing litter and plastic waste, and advocating for
eco-friendly alternatives,” it stated.

- At the Wagon Care Centre, New Tinsukia, another focused
drive was organised, underlining environmental responsibility within railway
operations.
- Staff and volunteers joined hands to clean the area and
educate others on sustainable practices.In support of the ‘Go Green’
initiative, staff and patients at Divisional Railway Hospital, New
Bongaigaonwere encouraged to plant trees within hospital premises. This
activity aimed to enhance green spaces and spread awareness about the
importance of trees in promoting a healthy environment.
