NEZCC has invited applications for 2025–2026 research documentation projects on folk, tribal and vanishing art forms across Northeast India.

DIMAPUR — The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has invited applications from renowned scholars interested in undertaking research-oriented documentation projects for the 2025–2026 session.
According to a DIPR report, the research projects will focus on folk and tribal music and dances as well as vanishing art forms of the eight Northeastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Applicants must be Indian citizens and indigenous inhabitants of the respective state for which they are applying.
The project proposals will be scrutinised and selected by a panel of experts constituted by the NEZCC.

Application forms and detailed guidelines are available at the offices of the Directorate of Art & Culture/Cultural Affairs of the respective state governments, Shilpgram, Panjabari, Guwahati, and the NEZCC head office, Dimapur.
The forms can also be downloaded from the NEZCC's official website and Facebook page.
The last date for submission of applications is August 31, 2026. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
The Director of NEZCC reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason, it stated.
