DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Shooting Championship 2026 in Small Bore Rifle and Pistol (NR) events will be held at the Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges in Bamunpukhuri-I, Dimapur, from July 27 to the 31st.
According to a circular issued by the Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA), the 11th edition of the event will be organised by the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, and conducted by the NRA in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NRAI Matchbook 2025.
The competition is open to registered shooters of affiliated district rifle associations, directly affiliated clubs, and academies. It will be conducted in individual events.
Entries will only be accepted online through the NRAI system at www.thenrai.org. Online entries with a normal fee will be accepted until 6:30 pm on July 20. Late entries with a triple entry fee will be accepted until 6:30 pm on July 22.
Shooters requiring assistance with filing their entries must contact the NRAI office before 6:30 pm on July 20 to avoid late fees. Shooters may contact Anjan Singh at the NRAI office on 9555046539 during working hours. Those seeking assistance after July 22 will be liable to pay a triple entry fee. Shooters who have not received or applied for their Shooter ID must do so on the NRAI website, while those with existing IDs can submit entries using their registration.

The age categories for participation in 2026 are:
Youth: 19 years or below (born in 2007 or after)
Juniors: 21 years (born in 2005 or after)
Masters: 45 to 60 years (born in 1966 to 1981)
Senior Masters: 61 to 70 years (born in 1956 to 1966)
Super Masters: 71 years or above (born in 1955)

Juniors are permitted to participate in the senior category, and youth may compete in both senior and junior categories. Sub-youth shooters are allowed to participate in all categories except Masters, Senior Masters, and Super Masters. Shooters below the age of 12 years are not allowed to participate in firearm events.
No certificates will be issued to shooters who fail to achieve the qualifying scores as per Rules 1.4 of 2025 during the championship.
A protest fee of INR 200 is applicable and INR 500 in case an appeal is filed with the Jury of Appeal. The fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld and retained by the organisers if lost. Entry fees will not be refunded in case of non-participation after submission.
Medals will be awarded based on entries: three medals for a minimum of four entries, two medals for a minimum of three entries, and one medal for a minimum of two entries. No medals will be awarded for a single entry. Para and foreign nationals may be awarded souvenirs, while Masters, Senior Masters, and Super Masters are exempted.
The events scheduled include 10m Rifle, 10m Pistol, 50m Rifle Prone Peep Sight, 50m Rifle Open Sight, 50m Rifle 3P, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Sports Pistol, and Centre Fire Pistol. Entry fees are set at INR 1,500 per match for 50m and 25m events and INR 1,000 per match for 10m events.
