North East United FC extend the contracts of Robin Yadav, Asheer Akhtar and Dipesh Chauhan, strengthening the squad for future seasons.

KOHIMA — North East United FC (NEUFC) has announced contract extensions with three key players—one year each with defenders Robin Yadav and Asheer Akhtar and until 2029 with goalkeeper Dipesh Chauhan.
According to an update, the club announced the new deals with the trio on July 11.
Akhtar joined the Highlanders in 2023 and the new agreement will keep him till the end of the 2026-27 season. Yadav arrived at the club in 2024 and will stay for the 2026-27 season, with the club holding an option to extend his stay for another year.

Meanwhile, Dipesh Chauhan signed a new long-term contract with the club, extending his stay with the Highlanders until the end of the 2028-29 season. The agreement also includes a club option to extend the deal by two more years, potentially securing his services until as late as 2031.

Head Coach Juan Pedro Benali and CEO of NorthEast United FC Mandar Tamhane welcomed the three players into the club. The players extended gratefulness for the trust the club has placed in them and expressed commitment to achieve greater success.
“Joining NorthEast United FC has helped me grow immensely as a player, and I'm excited to continue learning, improving and contributing to the team's ambitions. We've shared some incredible moments already, and I'm determined to keep working hard to help bring more success to this club," Robin Yadav said.
Akhtar said that the last two seasons have been incredibly rewarding and assured continuing to give his all to the club in every situation.
Chauhan noted he learnt so much from the coaches, teammates and everyone around the club since his joining. “Every day is an opportunity to improve, and I'm excited to continue competing, developing and giving everything I have for NorthEast United FC. I'm looking forward to what we can achieve together in the years ahead," he said.
