DIMAPUR — The North East Network (NEN) and Nagaland Volleyball Association (NVA) have condemned the murder of 22-year-old Vihozhonu Zao, whose body was found at Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima, on October 25.
In a press statement, the North East Network expressed deep shock and sadness over the murder, describing it as “a gross violation of a woman's rights to a life of safety, dignity, and freedom” and emphasising that “violence against women in any form is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated in society.”
The organisation said such heinous crimes highlight the urgent need for stronger measures to ensure the safety of women and girls in both public and private spaces. It further urged the concerned authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift, transparent, and thorough investigation to deliver justice.

It has further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families, relatives and friends.
