The Directorate of School Education announces open nominations for the National Teachers Award 2025, inviting eligible teachers to apply online by July 15.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has announced that the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy has opened the web portal for online self-nomination for the National Teachers Award 2025.
According to a DIPR report, the portal will accept applications from June 23 to July 15.
The eligibility condition for consideration for the National Teachers Award is that only regular teachers and heads of schools with a minimum of ten years of service are eligible.
Teachers who have contributed to the improvement of the quality of education through their commitment and industry and have also enriched the lives of their students can submit self-nominations before the prescribed last date of submission. Further details may be obtained from the web portal nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in.
All district education officers (DEOs), senior sub-divisional education officers (SDEOs), and SDEOs have also been requested to ensure wide publicity in their respective jurisdictions.

Also, DoSE has notified that teachers serving in government and private schools following the state government curriculum who have contributed to the improvement of the quality of education through their commitment and industry and have also enriched the lives of their students may be nominated for consideration for the district or state Teachers Award by administrative officers of the respective area, heads of the institution, or NGOs involved in the field of education at the village, sub-division, or district level.
It mentioned that the nomination form and eligibility conditions for consideration for the awards are available at every district education office and on the department’s website.
Further, teachers serving in government and private schools following the state curriculum who have a permanent disability, are suffering from a terminal ailment, are undergoing prolonged treatment for their own ailment, or have suffered from a natural calamity of a devastating nature for which a grant or relief was not received from any other source may apply for the grant of financial assistance in the prescribed format available on the department’s website.
The last date for submission of duly filled nomination forms for financial assistance at the respective DEO/SDEO establishment is July 20.
