DIMAPUR — A district-wide cleanliness drive was carried out across Noklak on Friday as part of the district administration’s monsoon preparedness initiative in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority, Noklak.
The mass social work began at 6 am with the participation of government departments, educational institutions, the Noklak Town Council, village and ward authorities, civil society organisations, student bodies, and the general public, a DIPR report stated.
The drive included cleaning roadside drains and culverts, clearing silt, debris, and overgrown vegetation, and removing waste materials to prevent waterlogging and minimise monsoon related risks.

Officials also inspected electric poles, ensured cleanliness around schools, and identified trees vulnerable to storm damage.
The initiative aims to strengthen sanitation, improve drainage, and enhance public safety during the monsoon season, the report stated.
