Niuland DPDB declares 2026 as ‘The year of plantation’ for the district.

DIMAPUR — The Niuland District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Friday at the DC’s conference hall, Niuland.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the DPDB Niuland, Sara S Jamir, who chaired the meeting, declared 2026 as ‘The year of plantation’ for the district, and urged the concerned department officers to prepare for successful implementation, a DIPR report stated.
The DC also reviewed the achievements and ongoing activities in the district and requested all the officers to outline their respective department’s activities for the year 2026.

District Fisheries Officer (DFO), Dr. Amenla, gave a detailed presentation on the department's development activities and undertakings in the district over the past three years
The DC stated that the fishery market in the district has good prospects and urged the department to explore marketing strategies that would boost the district’s economy.
Jamir also suggested the department to submit a proposal for a fish farm and to conduct a fish festival in the district.
Kiphire DPDB meeting held
The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on January 15 under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam at DC’s conference hall.
According to a DIPR report, the ADC extended New Year greetings to all the board members and reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting.
Following the review, SDO (Civil) Kiphire, Rozy Sangtam highlighted the work distribution for the upcoming Republic Day preparations at Kiphire district headquarters. Superintendent of Police, Kiphire, Chinise Chakasang extended special thanks to officers and staff of the district administration, Medical department and DPRO staff for the successful conduct of the recent Nagaland Police constable recruitment drive and rehearsals in the district. EAC Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen reminded the departments that have not yet registered on SHE-BOX to complete it as soon as possible.
