DIMAPUR — The Niuland Area Citizens’ Forum (NACF) has expressed deep concern over the continued neglect of the Atu Ghoki (Zubza) Bridge — the sole lifeline connecting Niuland district headquarters.
The Forum claimed that the concerned department was yet to take any concrete action despite repeated appeals highlighting the urgency to repair and restore the bridge.
“Over the years, the structural condition of the bridge has worsened significantly due to a combination of man-made and natural factors. It now poses a serious risk to commuters and heavy vehicles, with the safety of the pillars and overall integrity of the bridge in question,” the statement read.
