- Similarly, with the debut of Asian Foundation Mitra, the
department hopes to see a strong performance and is grateful to all donors, she
said.
- Ajit Kumar Verma, deputy commissioner of Mon, expressed
gratitude to the Asian Development Foundation and members of the district
planning development board for providing nutritional support to tuberculosis
patients.
- He noted that it is one of the initiatives taken to
eliminate tuberculosis, but it is insufficient. Many more efforts need to be
made by stakeholders, and a holistic approach to tuberculosis is required
because the incidence is high and the disease-causing bacteria are widespread
in the region.
- He also welcomed any assistance from other charities or
individuals who are prepared to help not only nutritionally but in any manner
possible as the number of cases in the district rises rapidly.
- The CEO of Asian Development Foundation highlighted a few activities
taken up by the team and handed over nutritional supplements donated by the
HoDs and the foundation to the patients.
