DIMAPUR — In a fitting gesture to celebrate the life and memory of Khremoü Liegise, ‘Love lives here still’ written by her daughter Niepusino Liegise, was released by Viketuno Rio, Director of The White Owl on October 16 at The White Owl in Chümoukedima.

During the launch, Niepusino Liegise remarked that it was a special day as the book was being launched in memory of her mother, on her 5th death anniversary, an update stated.

She said that the book was her way of honouring her mother's life, her words, and her love that continues to live on. Stating that it is not just her book, she said that it belongs to everyone who has touched her life, supported her and believed in her.

Liegise also described the book as a conversation between two voices: hers and her mother's while highlighting that, “some of these poems are hers, carrying her warmth and wisdom. Some are mine, written during different phases of my life, shaped by the bond we shared, by grief, by resilience, and by love that has never left me.”

During the formal book release, Viketuno Rio, Director of The White Owl, remarked that ‘Love lives here still’ beautifully captures the essence of relationships — family, love, innocence, enduring friendships, and the quiet strength of a woman who loved fiercely and lived fully.

She described each piece as alive, honest, heartfelt, and deeply human, noting that the book's uniqueness lies in capturing not only Niepusino’s voice but also her mother's essence.

Underlining that poetry isn’t just written, but is lived, Rio hoped that the book would remind readers to listen to the poetry around us, to cherish it, and carry it forward.

In her Publisher's note, Vishü Rita Krocha highlighted that ‘Love lives here still’ is the 111th publication of PenThrill, and termed the book as a rare work of art that immortalises the memory of a beloved mother, and the other mother figures in the author's life.

Stating that everyone has these special mothers in their lives, she expressed confidence that every reader would be able to resonate with the book that celebrates the exemplary and remarkable life of the author's mother.

In her tribute, Zaisi Ramlia recalled Khremoü Liegise as a woman of remarkable strength and humility, while emphasising that her life was an example of selflessness, compassion and commitment to the welfare of the society and particularly for the advancement and uplift of womenfolk.

She said that Khremoü was one of the founding forces behind the Tenyimi Women Organisation Dimapur and as the first president of the organisation, she led by example — with wisdom, fairness and unwavering dedication.

“Her legacy is not only in the institution she helped built but also in the enduring values she imparted to us all.”

The book launch ceremony featured a dedicatory prayer led by Rev. Dr. Sanyü Iralu, Principal of Shalom Bible Seminary, with Dechen serving as the programme chair. The event also included a heartfelt musical tribute by Asebi Khate, who sang a poem written by Khremoü Liegise, set to music by Nise Meruno.
