DIMAPUR — The Niathu Group of Hotels & Resorts has announced the return of the Niathu Sports Festival 2025, one of Nagaland’s most anticipated community sporting events.
Scheduled for October 9–11, the festival will be held at Zone Niathu by The Park and Noune Resort, promising three days of sports, culture, and community celebration, informed a press release on Wednesday.
Now in its 6th edition, the festival is part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at community development, youth empowerment, and promoting healthy living.
This year, the event is presented by the Niathu Privilege Club and powered by Mahindra Apex Motors, whose partnership adds energy and outreach to the festival.

Since its inception, the Niathu Sports Festival has grown beyond competition to become a platform for discovering grassroots talent, encouraging active lifestyles, and fostering unity across districts.
Competitions this year will include futsal, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, Niathu Run, Naga wrestling, and the MMA Fight Night organised by Tribe Fighting Championship, blending sportsmanship with cultural pride.
Kechangulie Rio, Chairman of Niathu Group, said: “At Niathu, we believe sports have the power to go beyond the field. They unite communities, inspire discipline, and nurture leadership. With the Niathu Sports Festival, we are committed to providing a platform where every participant—whether a young student or a professional athlete—can feel valued and celebrated. This initiative, as part of our CSR, is about giving back to the community and creating a healthier, stronger future.”
