Niamkoi P receives Metsio Thai Academic Excellence Award

DIMAPUR — The All Pangsha Students’ Union (APSU) organised the Metsio Thai Academic Excellence Award felicitation programme at Wolam Nyuking, Pangsha Old in Noklak district, December 19.
The highlight of the programme was the felicitation of Niamkoi P of St. Paul School, Noklak, the 4th recipient of the Metsio award.
In a press release, the union stated that the programme was held on the theme ‘Honouring brilliance, inspiring future.’
The event marked the 4th edition of the Metsio Thai Academic Excellence Award, instituted to recognise outstanding academic performance among students of the Khiamniungan community.

The theme address was delivered by K Chonglu Khiamniungan, Assistant Professor at Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang.
Niamkoi P secured the 7th rank in the HSLC Examination 2025, earning recognition for her academic excellence.
In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for the award and acknowledged the support of her teachers, parents, and well-wishers.
The Metsio Thai Academic Excellence Award, initiated in 2017 by the Wolam Nyukyan (New Pangsha) Students’ Union, in memory of pioneer late Metsio Thai, was formally handed over to All Pangsha Students’ Union (APSU) in 2024.
The award continues to serve as a beacon of encouragement for students to strive for academic excellence and contribute positively to society.
The award is conferred upon Khiamniungan students who secure the top position among the 20 HSLC exam toppers.
