A two-week handloom exhibition of the Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited gets underway in Mokokchung town.

DIMAPUR — A two-week handloom exhibition, organised by Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited (NHHDC) and sponsored by the office of Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, got underway at Town Hall in Mokokchung on Thursday.
The exhibition, which is being organised from October 16 to the 29, was inaugurated by Narola Alemba Jamir, NHHDC general manager (Admin).
An update from NHHDC stated that a total of 60 participants, comprising artisans and weavers from Assam and various districts of Nagaland, are exhibiting extensive range of handloom, khadi and handicraft products, reflecting the region’s rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

The primary objective of the exhibition was to develop and promote sustainable marketing channels in both the domestic and export markets, while establishing a holistic and integrated linkage between the two. The event was also aimed at creating viable marketing opportunities for artisans and weavers, thereby enhancing their economic empowerment and supporting the continued growth of the handloom and handicraft sectors.
