NFR to cancel and reduce frequency of several trains between Dec 2025 and Mar 2026 for safety during foggy season.

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the cancellation and reduced frequency of several long-distance trains between December 1, 2025, and March 3, 2026, as a precautionary measure to ensure safe and efficient operations during the foggy season.
According to an official release on Friday, the Dibrugarh–Chandigarh Express (Train No. 15903) will remain cancelled from December 1, 2025, to February 27, 2026, while its return service, Train No. 15904 (Chandigarh–Dibrugarh Express), will be cancelled from December 3, 2025, to March 1, 2026. Similarly, the Kamakhya–Gaya Express (Train No. 15620) will not operate from December 1, 2025, to February 23, 2026, and the Gaya–Kamakhya Express (Train No. 15619) will be cancelled from December 2, 2025, to February 24, 2026.
The Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Terminal Express (Train No. 15621) will remain suspended from December 4, 2025, to February 26, 2026, while its return journey (Train No. 15622) will be cancelled from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.

In addition, the NFR will temporarily reduce the frequency of certain trains. The Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Terminal North East Express (Train No. 12505) will not run on Wednesdays and Sundays from December 3, 2025, to February 25, 2026, while its return service (Train No. 12506) will be cancelled on Fridays and Tuesdays from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
The Alipurduar–Delhi Sikkim Mahananda Express (Train No. 15483) will not operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from December 3, 2025, to February 28, 2026, and its return service (Train No. 15484) will be cancelled on Fridays and Mondays from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
Similarly, the New Jalpaiguri–New Delhi Express (Train No. 12523) will be cancelled on Tuesdays from December 2, 2025, to February 24, 2026, and the return train (Train No. 12524) on Wednesdays from December 3, 2025, to February 25, 2026. The Dibrugarh–Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express (Train No. 15909) will not run on Saturdays from December 6, 2025, to February 28, 2026, while the return train (Train No. 15910) will be cancelled on Tuesdays from December 9, 2025, to March 3, 2026.
The NFR stated that the measures are intended to maintain safety, punctuality, and operational efficiency during periods of low visibility in northern and eastern India. Passengers have been advised to verify updated train schedules through the IRCTC website, NTES app, or the official social media handles of the NFR before planning their journey.
