DIMAPUR — NG Mary Saza, Programme Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from Asufii Christian Institute (ACI), Manipur, has been honoured with My Bharat NSS Award 2022–23 under Programme Officer/Unit Category in recognition of her dedication, leadership, and contributions to promoting social welfare and community engagement through NSS activities.
President of India Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Saza alongside Dr. Daili Neli, Principal of ACI, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on October 6.
The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, confers the NSS Award to Programme Officers/NSS Units and NSS Volunteers every year, recognising their outstanding contributions towards voluntary community service and to promote the scheme. This year, 10 NSS Units along with their 10 Programme Officers were conferred with the award.

The NSS in ACI has grown significantly since its inception in 2015 as a self finance Unit under Manipur University, informed an update received here.
‘To this day, the college has two full-fledged Units and a separate Unit at Asufii Christian Sr. Sec. School, under the tireless leadership of Ms. Mary Saza, with each Unit led by separate Programme Officers,’ it added.
