NEZCC will host the Rhythms of Freedom – Tiranga Charity Concert in Dimapur on August 15, with ticket proceeds supporting families affected by natural disasters in Nagaland.
DIMAPUR — As Nagaland continues to recover from landslides, flash floods and other natural disasters that have displaced families, damaged homes and disrupted livelihoods across several districts, the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is set to organise the “Rhythms of Freedom – Tiranga Charity Concert” on August 15 at the NEZCC Stone Sculpture Garden, Dimapur.
The concert will be held as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, with the message, “When one part of Nagaland suffers, all of Nagaland stands together.”
Organisers said 100 percent of the ticket proceeds will be donated to support families affected by natural disasters across Nagaland.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the NEZCC office on Monday by newly appointed NEZCC Director, Dimapur, Alobo Naga.
Alobo said artistes, cultural institutions and citizens could not remain silent in times of crisis, adding that culture has always been more than entertainment.
He said music, art and tradition have historically brought communities together not only during celebrations but also during times of hardship, providing hope, strength and courage to rebuild.
He said several prominent musicians, choirs, performers and entertainers from Nagaland had agreed to join the initiative. The participating artistes include Nise Meruno, Sunep Lemtur, Hentok Konyak, Colored Keys, Lenen Jamir, Kivika Achumi, Cantamus Choir, Tetso College Choir, 5 Minutes Band, Hoiying Walim, Musik-A Voice Teachers and comedian Hopong Naga, besides several surprise guests.
The NEZCC director also said various communities residing in Dimapur, including the Marwari Samaj, Bihari Samaj, Bengali Samaj, Tibetan-Bhutia community, Nepali community, Gorkha Union, Dimasa Union, Punjabi Samaj and Muslim Council, among others, would participate in the event with cultural performances showcasing the diversity of India.
He described the concert as a meaningful way to celebrate the 80th Independence Day, saying it would not only honour the national flag but also celebrate the people who contribute to the strength of the nation.
The event will also feature a variety of food from the Nagaland Street Food Vendors Association, fresh beverages from Nagaland Coffee and a children's zone by Fun Factory.
Organisers said these attractions are intended to make the event enjoyable for families.

Entry to the concert has been fixed at INR 100, with the entire ticket proceeds going towards supporting disaster-affected families in Nagaland. Tickets will be available through Ahibi.in, and the concert is scheduled to begin at 5 pm.
For those unable to attend the concert, a donation campaign has also been launched through a QR code available on Ahibi.in, enabling members of the public to contribute to the relief effort.
The event will be managed by Musik-A Events, with Kaki Marketing and Ahibi.in as marketing partners. State Bank of India (SBI) is also associated with the initiative.
Alongside the Dimapur concert, the NEZCC will organise a series of programmes across the Northeast under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
The NEZCC director appealed to the public to join the celebrations with family and friends while contributing to the cause of families affected by natural disasters in Nagaland.
