BJP Nagaland organised a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra’ two-wheeler rally in Kohima, with Minister Temjen Imna Along urging citizens to honour and respectfully display the Tricolour.
KOHIMA — The BJP Nagaland on Monday organised a two-wheeler rally under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra’ in Kohima as part of celebrations commemorating India’s 80th Independence Day.
The rally was flagged off at Eco Park in the presence of Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, who attended the programme as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Along urged citizens to carry the Tricolour with pride and respect, stating that Nagaland was joining the nationwide celebration by honouring the national flag, which he described as a symbol of national integration, pride and citizenship.
He reminded participants to treat the national flag with dignity even after the programme concluded.
He also cautioned participants against allowing the Tricolour to become a source of littering and appealed to them to collect the flags after the rally and either return them appropriately or take them home and display them respectfully.
“Let this Tricolour be the pride of each and every citizen of our state,” he said, calling on people to honour both the national flag and the nation.

The programme began with an introduction by Eduzu Theluo, state vice president and convenor of the Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra Committee, who highlighted the significance of the campaign and its role in fostering nationalism, self-respect, a sense of belonging and patriotism among the people.
Among others, the event was attended by Advisor Kropol Vitsu; Chairman of the Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NSMDC), Kuputo Shohe; Chairperson of the Nagaland Bio Resource Mission (NBRM), Wanphong Konyak; tribal representatives and party workers.
