DISHA meeting scheduled in Kohima on Aug. 28


DIMAPUR — A meeting of the District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) will be held in Kohima on August 28. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, informed that the meeting is scheduled for 1:00 pm at the conference hall of the DC office, according to a DIPR report. All concerned members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. Further, the project director, DRDA, Kohima; the district welfare officer/district programme officer, Kohima; the executive engineer, PHED (Urban), Kohima; and the executive engineer, PHED (Rural), Kohima, have been directed to prepare presentations on the activities carried out under their respective departments and present the same during the meeting.

USSC notifies educational institutions


DIMAPUR — In view of the upcoming Mungmung-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival, the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has directed all the educational institutions within Kiphire, Longkhim and Chare jurisdiction to remain closed from September 1 to the 6th. The organisation has sought strict compliance and necessary action.


SNUNS condoles demise of Nagaland Governor


DIMAPUR — The South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) has condoled the passing away of Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan. It has termed his demise as a huge loss, noting that he was close to all the citizens and one who always opened the door to everyone who sought it. It stated that his intellect, humility and proficient personality would be remembered. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace for the departed soul.


TUD to meet on August 23


DIMAPUR — The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has convened a meeting of its office bearers, executives, tribal hoho presidents/secretaries, members of the golden jubilee planning committee, all sub-committees and the frontal organisations on August 23 at Jotsoma Community Hall in Kuda village ‘A’ Khel at 9 am. An update from the union stated that there would be a photo session for all committees for the jubilee souvenir book prior to the meeting. All the concerned members are requested to come with a touch of traditional attire for the photo session.
