NSCN (IM) warns against rice diversion

 

DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has stated that it has come to the knowledge of the Ministry of Kilo Affairs that FCI rice, tide over rice, PHH & AAY schemes meant for public distribution, particularly the poor and vulnerable, are being tampered and manipulated for sale in black market. In a press release, the NSCN (IM) cautioned that diverting subsidised food meant for the poor and vulnerable is “illegal and unlawful,” and informed all concerned that stringent action shall be initiated against any defaulters, “either government employee or public involving in tampering and manipulation of FCI rice, tide over rice, PHH & AAY aided rice within Naga inhabited areas.”


AICC approves NPCC core committee

 

DIMAPUR — The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Friday announced that the Congress president has approved the proposal for the constitution of the core committee of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) with immediate effect. In a press, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal stated that the members of the core committee are K L Chishi, SI Jamir, ET Ezung, Takamasa, Shami Angh, Zaculhu, and Seyiekoulie. The Congress president also approved the proposal for the appointment of Akunonuo Miachieo as the general secretary of the NPCC, with immediate effect.

NHSS students interact with DC Kohima

 

DIMAPUR — As part of the ‘One day with Deputy Commissioner’ initiative for meritorious and aspiring students, the students of Northfield Higher Secondary School (NHSS), Kohima, visited the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, on Friday. During the visit, they interacted with Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem, and other administrative officers, gaining first-hand exposure to the functioning of the DC Office, a DIPR report stated. The students also toured various sections of the office as part of the programme.


Child Helpline Dimapur informs

 

DIMAPUR — A nine-year-old boy identified as Monru, son of Rajan, was found wandering at Burma Camp and is currently under the care and protection of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Dimapur. The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) – Child Helpline Dimapur has informed any family member, relative or guardian to contact Child Helpline Dimapur– 1098 or call its officials on phone nos. 9362358230, 6909005712 and 7005156893. It stated that the child would be declared legally free for adoption and placed for legal adoption as per due process if no claim is made by the family, relatives or guardians within 60 days.


KMC directive on fire extinguishers

 

DIMAPUR — Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all business establishment and shops to install fire extinguishers in their shops/ premises within one month from the issue of this order. Considering the difficulty and shortage, it informed that fire extinguishers could be acquired at nominal charges at KMC office during working hours. It further stated that immediate attention and adherence to the directive is crucial for the safety and welfare of the community.


Taxes dept. develops software application

 

DIMAPUR — To facilitate ease of doing business, the State Taxes Department has developed software application for registration and payment of professions tax. It informed that the software application for registration would be rolled out on October 1 and be made available at the department’s website www.nagalandtax.nic.in. All persons liable for registration and payment of profession tax are directed to get themselves registered or enrolled. It added that step-by-step process flow for registration and enrolment, class of persons, applicable rate of professions tax and helpdesk would be made available in the website for assistance and guidance. All concerned are asked to contact phone no. 7005080401 or visit the nearest State Tax office for further information.

 

NSCN (Akato) condoles cadre’s demise

 

DIMAPUR — Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN has condoled the demise of its Tatar, K Kitoka Aye of Yehemi village, who passed away on September 25. It stated that the voluntary national service rendered by him would be etched in the history of the Naga national movement. It added that Aye has left behind legacy as a simple and honest 'nationalist' for all his compatriots to cherish on. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace of the departed soul.

 

MCHSS hosts cyber security programme

 

DIMAPUR — National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) project, conducted a cyber security awareness programme at Mount Carmel Higher Secondary School (MCHSS), Kohima, on September 25. The resource persons were Morimemba Amer, joint director of NIELIT, and Moakumla, technical officer of NIELIT. They spoke on cyber threats such as identity theft, social engineering, social media fraud etc. The programme was attended by students from Classes 5 to 9.
