DIMAPUR — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, has issued an official order mandating all coaching centres operating within the district to register their institutes by April 30, 2026. According to the order, all coaching institutes must apply for registration within the stipulated deadline. The move aims to streamline and regulate the functioning of coaching centres across the district, a DIPR report stated. Application forms can be obtained from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima (Development Branch), where institutions are required to submit duly filled forms along with all relevant documents to the office by April 30. The district administration urged all coaching centres to comply within the given timeframe to avoid any inconvenience.
ICFAI marks World Heritage Day
DIMAPUR — ICFAI University Nagaland organised a poster making competition to mark World Heritage Day at the university’s campus on April 18. The event, conducted by the NSS unit of ICFAI, FoCuS (a cultural forum of the university) and it's IQAC, centred on the theme “Emergency response for living heritage in contexts of conflicts and disasters,” the university stated in an update. Students actively participated in the event, showcasing creativity and raising awareness about the protection of cultural heritage during crises. The programme successfully promoted artistic expression and social responsibility among participants, it stated.
Livestock insurance training in Phek
DIMAPUR — The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH and VS), Phek, conducted training on the livestock insurance scheme for para-veterinarians and farmers under the NLM scheme 2026-26 at the office of the Chief Veterinary Officer, Phek, on April 13. According to a DIPR report, Dr. E Mhonlumi Lotha, CVO Phek, highlighted the scope and importance of the insurance while addressing the current situation of livestock, which are at much greater risk from various diseases. In the technical session, Dr. Metshepe Lasuh, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, delivered an in-depth session on the objective, claim procedures, animal coverage and rates under the livestock insurance scheme. The programme ended with an interactive session with the participants.
Smart payment meters in Zunheboto
DIMAPUR — The Department of Power, Zunheboto, has issued a circular informing the public that smart payment meters will soon be installed for all domestic consumers in the district. The notification stated that the installation process for domestic households will begin after the completion of smart meter installations in government offices, industries, and commercial establishments. It is being carried out in pursuance of Government of India Gazette notifications and directives from the Department of Power, a DIPR report stated. The public has been directed to cooperate with officials during the installation process, and warned that any obstruction or disturbance caused by individuals or groups during the exercise may invite penalties under relevant sections of the law.
