Advisor Sethrongkyu inaugurates guest house
DIMAPUR — Advisor for Information Technology and Communication, Economics, Statistics and Evaluation H Sethrongkyu Sangtam inaugurated the Holongba Baptist Lithro Guest House at Holongba village in Tuensang on May 26. The guest house was constructed under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) Iconic Project during 2025-26, stated a DIPR report. In his inaugural speech, Sethrongkyu expressed gratitude for the successful realisation of his vision. He stated that when people work collectively, a better society is built without hardships. He urged the members of the Sangtam community to lead the society with truth and integrity.
Coaching centres in Mon district ordered to register
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mon Wennyei Konyak has issued a notification informing all coaching centres operating within the Mon district to mandatorily apply for registration on or before May 31, 2026. The directive was issued in pursuance of a government notification and the constitution of the District Level Committee for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres, Mon district. The application forms for registration are available at the DC’s office in Mon. According to the Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres, any establishment providing tuition, instructions, or guidelines to more than 20 students for any programme, competitive examinations, or academic support must apply for registration. In cases where a coaching centre has multiple branches, each branch will be treated as a separate coaching centre, and a separate application for registration must be submitted for each branch.
WSH to hold 41-U Baghi Hoho
DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) will hold its 41-U Baghi Hoho on May 30 at the WSH Hiyam in Chekiye village from 10 am. The event will be held on the theme "Peace & unity", according to an update. The President of Sumi Hoho, Dr. Vihuto Assumi, will attend the programme as the special guest. During the event, matters concerning the welfare, unity, and common interests of the Sumi community will be discussed. The programme will also mark the change of guard of the hoho leadership. The WSH has invited all former leaders of the hoho, leaders of various frontal organisations under the WSH, Sumi elders, church leaders, and well-wishers to attend the programme.
ULB and NVC Committee to meet on June 2
DIMAPUR — Advisor and chairperson of the Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils (vis-à-vis The Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023 and The Nagaland Village and Tribal Council Act, 1978 as amended up to 2022), K Tokugha Sukhalu, has convened an introductory meeting of the Committee on June 2 at 11:30 am in the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. All the Committee members are requested to attend the meeting.
Free medical consultation camp at IMDH
MOKOKCHUNG — The Medical department and Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) under the XVFC Health Grant will organise a two-day super-speciality medical camp at the Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) on May 29 and 30. The camp will offer free consultations by renowned super specialists, namely Dr. Gnanaraj Jesudian, MBBS, MS (Urology), and Dr. Samuel Noklang, MD (Cardiology). Dr. Tiasunep, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Mokokchung, informed that the consultations will be provided free of cost. Screening and registration for the health camp are currently underway at IMDH, Mokokchung.
Clarification on electoral roll revision schedule
DIMAPUR — A corrigendum has been issued regarding the Kohima DPDB news report published in the May 27 issue of local dailies. According to the corrigendum, the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll was incorrectly mentioned. The corrected schedule for the house-to-house visit by BLOs will be conducted from August 16 to September 14, and the draft electoral roll will be published on September 20. It was further clarified that the venue for the DPDB Blood Donation Camp will be the Capital Convention Centre.
