KKYO condemns threat to Dr. Dzuvichu
DIMAPUR — The Kuda Kewhimia Youth Organisation (KKYO) has condemned the recent death threat to Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu, advisor of the Naga Mother’s Association. In a condemnation note, the KKYO stated that threatening the life of any individual is not only a criminal act but also an assault on the fundamental rights of safety, dignity and freedom of expression. “Death threats are cowardly attempt to silent voices of truth and justice. But let it be clear: we will not be silenced. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu, offering our full support and solidarity,” the organisation asserted. It also urged the law enforcement authorities to swiftly investigate and bring the accused person to justice.

Bamboo signage installed along NH 702-A
DIMAPUR — Eco-friendly bamboo frame signage for clean public spaces under Swachhata Hi Seva were installed along the National Highway 702-A at Chozuba on September 27. According to a DIPR report, the drive was organised and conducted by the district administration along with the Chozuba Town Youth Association and the Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union, as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Initiative from September 17 to October 2.
Rotary Club Kohima organises BE&L prog.
DIMAPUR — The Rotary Club of Kohima on Monday organised a basic education and literacy (BE&L) programme at Government High School, PWD colony, Kohima. The event highlighted Rotary’s commitment to promoting education and healthy practices, an update stated. As part of the programme, the club donated hand washing basins to the school, reinforcing its dedication to student well-being and literacy development.
Power supply restored in Kohima’s Daklane
DIMAPUR — Power supply was restored at Daklane (Ward No. 7), Kohima, on Sunday evening after a transformer damaged on the midnight of September 24 was replaced by the Power department. The Kohima Electrical Division, led by Executive Engineer Shiludi Longkumer, SDO Nuthozo Hoshi, JE Simon Belho, and their team, transported and installed a 500 kV transformer from Dimapur despite adverse weather and road conditions, an update stated. Meanwhile, the Daklane Council and residents lauded the officers and staff for their sacrifice and commitment, describing their efforts as “truly commendable.”
Khensa women’s seminar concludes
MOKOKCHUNG — The fourth edition of Khensatsür Shisatokden Senden (Khensa women’s seminar & conference), held on the theme ‘Südem Akangshiro,’ concluded on September 28 at Khensa Baptist Church (KBC), Mokokchung. Organised by the women ministry of KBC, the three-day conference drew wide participation from across Khensa and surrounding units with a total of 388 delegates. During the valedictory programme, the organisers announced that the fifth edition of Khensatsür Shisatokden Senden will be held in 2029 and a new planning committee was constituted for the upcoming edition. TUD meeting on Sep. 30
DIMAPUR — The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has convened a meeting on September 30 at 10 am at Mao multi-utility building, Mao colony, Kuda B-Khel. In a press release, the union informed all unit presidents/secretaries/representatives, jubilee committee members, co-conveners of all sub-committees, TUD office bearers, executives, and the president/secretary of TWUD, TSUD, and TYOD to attend the meeting without fail.
