  • PNVC seeks thorough probe into teen's drowning death

  • DIMAPUR — The Pathso Nokeng Village Council (PNVC) has called for a thorough and prompt investigation into the drowning death of 19-year-old Pesha Khiamniungan, whose body was recovered from the Dhansiri River by Karbi Anglong police on May 26. In a press release, the village council stated that while the exact cause of his death remains under investigation, the circumstances are troubling. The PNVC stated maintained that no such incident should be met with silence and that every human life has immeasurable worth, making it a moral duty to seek justice. Expressing confidence in the concerned authority, they urged for a relentless and prompt investigation to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

  • Consumer protection awareness campaign held in Shamator

  • DIMAPUR — A consumer awareness campaign on Consumer Protection Act 2019, organised by the Tuensang District Legal Services Authority, was held at Shamator town hall on June 6. According to a DIPR report, a short speech was delivered by Z Atsu, executive chairman SCCI. Kundilong Kessen, NJS secretary, TDLSA, spoke on Consumer Protection Act 2019. This was followed by a question and answer session. Shangchiu, panel lawyer, TDLSA, concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.

  • NSCN (Niki) discharges cadre

  • DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has discharged Khetoka H, sectional officer, from active “national service” with effect from June 5, owing to personal reasons. An order issued from the office of central secretariat, signed by the cabinet secretary wished Khetoka a bright future, and stated that the “service rendered by him for the cause of the Naga Political struggle shall ever be remembered and recorded in the annals of the Naga history.”
