- DIMAPUR — St.
Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland, was one of 23 universities across India to
sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Research and Information
System for Developing Countries (RIS), an independent policy think tank under
the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
- The MoU was formalised during the International Conference
on ‘Global South and Triangular Cooperation: Emerging Facets,’ held in New
Delhi on June 3 and the 4th, the university stated in an update.

Affairs and St. Joseph University, Nagaland, during the signing of the MoU in
New Delhi.
- The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Sachin
Chaturvedi, Director General of RIS, and Dr. Moameren Pongen, Asst. Prof. in
the Department of Political Science at St. Joseph University, representing
their respective institutions.

- The MoU aims to foster collaborative research, knowledge
sharing, and capacity building between RIS and partner universities. Key areas
of collaboration include joint research and resource pooling, organisation of
seminars and conferences on global economic issues, climate change, and
development finance, faculty exchange programmes, joint publications and
research dissemination, and exchange of scholarly materials.
- “This partnership is expected to enhance institutional
capacity, promote academic cooperation, and contribute to the region’s overall
growth and development through meaningful knowledge exchange,” the update
stated.
