Home Department notifies renaming of 2 villages
DIMAPUR — The Home Department, General Administrative Branch, has issued a notification regarding change of two village names in Nagaland with immediate effect. According to a DIPR report, Sotokur Village under Shamator district has been renamed Thsotoku, while Choknyu Village under Mon district has been renamed Chohzu.
Seed capital distribution on March 11
DIMAPUR — The Directorate of Industries & Commerce has stated that the official programme for release of seed capital money to SHGs of NSRLM and NULM under the CSS-PMFME scheme will be held on March 11at 11 am at the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce. Advisor for Industries & Commerce Hekani Jakhalu will also attend the event. In a letter, the directorate has informed the mission director of NSRLM, Nagaland and the state mission director of DAY-NULM, Nagaland, to depute officials and representatives to the programme. “Further, you are requested to ensure the participation of 20 SHG member beneficiaries each in the programme,” it added.
CUDNC condemns assault on member
DIMAPUR — The Chungtor Union Dimapur, Niuland & Chümoukedima (CUDNC) has condemned the violent act perpetrated against one of its bona fide members. In a condemnation note, the union alleged that on February 21, Sanjay So-cio (Max) raided the residence of Kenneth, blank fired four rounds in an act of intimidation and physically assaulted him without any rhyme or reason. It stated that such brazen acts are a direct affront to peace, security and the rule of law in a civilised society. The union also extended appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and her team for the prompt response in apprehending the accused, Sanjay Socio (Max). It said that the swift action reflects commitment to maintaining law and order. Considering the severity of the offence, the union urged the concerned law enforcing agencies to invoke appropriate non-bailable sections of the law and ensure strict legal action deemed fit so that such incidents do not recur in future.
SP Kiphire notifies constable viva dates
DIMAPUR — The interview and viva voice for candidates provisionally shortlisted for the post of constable will be held from March 5 to March 7 at SP’s Office, Kiphire. According to a DIPR report, the forenoon reporting time is 7:30 am and the afternoon reporting time is 12:30 pm. Superintendent of Police and member secretary of DLSC Kiphire, Chinese Chakhesang, informed that the recruitment guidelines previously issued by the Police Headquarters will be followed strictly. The notice is subject to change or amendment as per DRB directions. “Further, this notice serves as official communication to all concerned candidates and no further individual notice will be issued.
