Kohima Court sentences Logvuseng Kent to seven years in Terilo Odyuo alias Lucy Kent death case at Tseminyu.

DIMAPUR — The Court of Mezivolu T Therieh, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Kohima, on March 2 sentenced Logvuseng Kent (52) to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of INR 5,000 in connection with the death of Terilo Odyuo alias Lucy Kent (50), which occurred on January 7, 2023, at Tseminyu.
The court convicted Kent under Section 304 Part I of the Indian Penal Code for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. In default of payment of the fine, he will have to undergo an additional one year of simple imprisonment.

According to a statement issued by Special Public Prosecutor L Sashimongla Jamir, the case was investigated by UBSI Chonkholen Doungel of Tseminyu Police Station.
During the trial, 12 prosecution witnesses were examined. The special public prosecutor successfully established the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt through oral, medical, and documentary evidence.
Additional Public Prosecutor Abraham also lauded the coordinated efforts of the police, prosecution, and witnesses, and expressed appreciation to the investigating agency for its effective work.
It may be noted that the convict, Logvusen Kent, was the husband of the deceased, Terilo Odyuo alias Lucy Kent.
