Chümoukedima declared no-fly zone on March 6
DIMAPUR — Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, I Aotula T Imchen has imposed temporary security restrictions in view of a VVIP transit through Chümoukedima on March 6. In an order issued on Thursday, the CP declared the district a ‘Red Zone’ (no-fly zone) from 6 am to 6 pm, prohibiting the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA)/drones and similar devices. The order also restricted firing practice by security forces, civil and central police, private firing ranges, and licensed firearm holders, as well as the bursting of firecrackers during the same period. Stating that the notice could not be served individually to all concerned, the order added that it was issued ex-parte due to security exigency.
Free health camp at CHC Pughoboto on March 7
DIMAPUR — The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) of Pughoboto, YithachuThur, has informed the public that a free health camp will be held at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Pughoboto on March 7 from 9 am onwards, in observance of International Women’s Day. The camp is a collaborative initiative of CHC Pughoboto, the district administration Pughoboto, and Faith Welfare Society (FWS), with sponsorship from the FWS, a DIPR report stated. The initiative aims to bring specialist healthcare closer to the people and will provide diagnostic screenings for kidney, liver, thyroid, and blood sugar, along with consultations from specialists in eye care, ENT, head and neck, surgery, dental, and oral and maxillofacial services. All consultations, diagnostic services, and prescribed medicines will be provided free of cost. The SDO (C) also requested village council chairmen and GBs to give wide publicity in their respective areas and encourage maximum participation, particularly among women and economically weaker sections, to benefit from the camp.
ICFAI student selected for state-level youth parliament
DIMAPUR — Kereineilie John, a BBA IV semester student of ICFAI University Nagaland, secured third position at the District Level Youth Parliament Programme organised by Tetso College, Sovima, on March 3. Following his achievement, he has been selected as the district representative for Phase-2 of the Youth Parliament Programme at the state level. In a press release, the university congratulated him on his accomplishment and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
