Kohima Police seek help to identify deceased man
KOHIMA — Kohima Police has sought the public’s assistance in identifying an untraced individual who passed away on February 13. In a press release, the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima, stated that on February 8, an unknown male, aged approximately 25–30 years, fair complexion, height approximately 5.7 ft., dressed in a light grey shirt and black trousers, was found lying unconscious on the street near Phoolbari area, Kohima. He was immediately admitted to NHAK ICU, where he succumbed to his condition on February 13 at around 6.30 am. The deceased bore two identifying tattoos: a chest tattoo inscribed with the number “1997” and a full-hand tattoo on his left arm. The body is currently kept at the North Police Station morgue for further identification. NGBF condoles Shitoho Chophy’s demise
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Gaonburas Federation (NGBF) has condoled the sudden demise of Shitoho Chophy, co-convener of WC- NNPG and general secretary of NNC/NPGN, (non- accordist) of Zuheshe village, Niuland, who passed away at Hayat Hospital, Guwahati. In a condolence message, the federation stated that Shitoho was a young and promising leader who served the Naga nation with dedication and commitment until his last breath. “His gentle and decent personality reflected the true qualities of leadership, earning him respect and admiration from all sections of society. “With his demise, the Naga political movement has lost a dynamic leader whose contributions were significant and invaluable,” the message read.
Missing Naga woman traced in Delhi
DIMAPUR — A woman from Nagaland identified as Maichunkam, who had gone missing from Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, on February 10, has been traced at PS Narela Industrial Area in Outer North Delhi. Source informed that she was located by alert local residents who immediately informed the police. It stated that coordinated efforts from ZSUD, LKRD, SPUNER team and Delhi Police ensured her safe recovery.
Animal heath camp held at Kashanyu village
DIMAPUR — Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, organised animal health camp on Friday at Kashanyu village under Tseminyu district. A total of 40 farmers participated in the camp, an update stated. Dr. Paihem Michui, ACTO (Animal Science), KVK Kohima led the camp and stressed on deworming, vaccination, biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and also importance of regular vitamins and minerals supplementation to livestock including poultry. The programme focused on strengthening farmers’ technical knowledge and skill for improved livestock management thereby enhancing livestock health and productivity. Inputs in the form of veterinary medicines were distributed among the farmers.
Dimapur Police report hospital death
DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police on February 12 received telephonic information from District Hospital Dimapur stating that one male individual, namely Washim (approx .25 years), who was brought for medical attention at the emergency ward on February 10 by Abdul Manan from Westyard colony, Dimapur, had expired on February 11 at around 11.30 pm. Inquest was conducted over the dead body and no foul play could be established, the police stated in a press release. On completion of all legal formalities, the deceased body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur morgue for PM examination.
