- DIMAPUR — The annual sports and games meet
2025 of Newman Higher Secondary School (NHSS), Tobu, commenced on Thursday at
the school ground, with Shaying Sheu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tobu,
as the special guest.
- In his speech, the special guest emphasised the significance
of maintaining physical fitness and encouraged students to explore sports as a
viable career option. He also motivated both the students and teachers to
strive for academic excellence, the school stated in a press release.
- The three-day event will witness participation from students
representing the four school houses, competing for the coveted overall
championship title.
- Competitions include football, volleyball, basketball,
kabaddi, kho-kho and various individual track and field events.

- Principal of NHSS, Rev. Fr. Kevishi Solomon, in his welcome address,
highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline and teamwork among
students.
- The programme also witnessed synchronised aerobics and impressive
drill display performances from juniors, sub-juniors and primary section
students, which was followed by grand parade featuring the 8 contingents.
